Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation

A foundation's legacy, finally online

An established non-profit with decades of impact had no way to take donations online. We rebuilt the site with donations, events, history, and a CMS the staff run themselves.

Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation — A foundation's legacy, finally online

The problem

The Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation is a registered charity with decades of history and significant fundraising impact in southern Saskatchewan. Their mandate is to raise funds for a new hospital and medical equipment for the community.

Their old website was outdated and static. There was no way to accept donations online. Staff couldn't update website content without calling a developer. No event management. No newsletter system. No modern infrastructure for a foundation of their size and history.

The foundation's old website — outdated design, no donation capability

For a foundation actively raising funds and engaging a community, the website was a bottleneck rather than a tool.

Previous site content was dense and difficult to navigate

What we built

We delivered a full website redesign built around what the foundation actually needs to do — raise funds, communicate with donors, promote events, and tell their story.

Online donations

We integrated an online donation system connected to their payment processor so donors can give directly through the site. One-time or monthly giving, preset amounts or custom, with the ability to direct gifts toward specific equipment like cardiac monitors. No more directing people to external links or asking them to mail a cheque as the only option.

Content management

We built a content management system so the office staff can update pages, post news releases, and manage content without calling a developer. The foundation publishes regularly — event announcements, campaign updates, donor acknowledgments — and now they control all of it.

Foundation history & community

A complete history section documenting the foundation's legacy — from the original 1913 Weyburn General Hospital through the 1952 Union Hospital to the new facility under construction. Historical photographs, timelines, and the full story told properly for the first time online.

A Ways to Give page outlining every way people can support the cause — online donations, e-transfers, monetary gifts, pledges, and more. Event pages for foundation activities. Newsletter integration so they can communicate with donors and the community.

The outcome

The foundation went from an outdated static site with no donation capability to a modern, staff-managed website where donors give online, events get promoted, and the foundation's story is properly told. The relationship has since grown into further project discussions.
